Quisumbing Torres held its Annual Tax Forum last 15 March 2018. With the theme Tax Reform and Employment Issues, the forum was attended by various representatives from the country's top companies. Facilitated by QT's Tax and Employment Practice Groups, the event focused on the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law (Republic Act No. 10963) and related employment law issues. The forum was officially opened by Dennis Dimagiba, Partner and Head of QT's Tax Practice Group.
The forum's sessions featured QT's tax and employment specialists, Kenneth Chua (Employment Practice Group Head), Maria Ana Camila Jacinto-Lagustan (Associate, Tax Practice Group), Deodar Lovell Bautista (Associate, Tax Practice Group) and Alexander Ner (Associate, Tax Practice Group) as presenters.
Tackling the current tax considerations and employment pitfalls faced by the business sector today, the summit's sessions covered the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (RA 10963), TRAIN's Impact on Employment Contracts and How to Navigate the Issue of Non-Diminution, TRAIN Second Package-Corporate Income Tax and Incentives Reform Act, and Updates on Philippine Customs Laws and Regulations. A panel discussion then followed which was moderated by Ronald Bernas, a Partner in QT's Tax Practice Group. The event was hosted by Kristine Anne Mercado- Tamayo, an Associate in QT's Tax Practice Group.
