Baker McKenzie has named two new partners: Cristina Mejia Rivas has been promoted to Partner of the Firm’s Dispute Resolution Practice and Rodrigo Castillo Cottin is now a Partner of the Tax and Wealth Management group. These promotions are part of the Firm’s growth strategy in key practice areas in Colombia and throughout Latin America.

Cristina Mejia Rivas has 14 years of experience in multi-jurisdictional disputes, as well as arbitration. She has represented important clients in the oil and gas and financial sectors. She has also advised on disputes related to major infrastructure projects. She is a graduate of Universidad Pontificia Javeriana in Bogota and received an LLM from Columbia University in New York where she graduated with honors.
Rodrigo Castillo Cottin has advised individuals and multinational enterprises on international and domestic tax planning and wealth management for 14 years. He created and leads Baker McKenzie’s Tax and Wealth Management team in Colombia. Rodrigo is a tax specialist from the Universidad del Externado in Bogota and holds an advanced master’s in international tax law from Leiden University in the Netherlands.
