Baker McKenzie, in partnership with the consulting and digital transformation firm Thémis Conseil, has launched a complete, technical and legal solution for compliance with the GDPR* aimed at mid-sized companies.

The consulting subsidiary of the ITS group, Thémis Conseil, is a law firm with 70 consultants in management, organisation and transformation of information systems, who work to align organisations and information systems to improve a company’s level of performance.

This partnership makes it possible to complete the compliance programmes developed by Baker McKenzie’s ITC team, with technical expertise brought on board by the Thémis Conseil consultants in the design of action plans and compliance tools as well as in their operational implementation.

This new offering essentially targets medium-sized enterprises needing to proceed with their GDPR projects rapidly. Beyond legal compliance strictly speaking, the offering proposed by Baker McKenzie and Thémis Conseil aims to cater to the recurrent needs of medium-sized businesses, to assist them on a long-term basis with the governance and updating of their personal data protection programmes.

“The GDPR comes into force on May 25, 2018. In view of the very short time that businesses now have left, this partnership will enable us to satisfy a real need on the part of our clients by offering assistance that focuses essentially on their processing and the major risks entailed  by their compliance initiatives” explained Christian Blomet, a partner with Baker McKenzie’s ITC Practice in Paris.
