Baker McKenzie is pleased to announce that the Firm has been presented with the "10 Years+ Caring Company Award" in recognition of its strong commitment to caring for the community, its employees and the environment.
Awarded by the Hong Kong Council of Social Services, this is the 12th consecutive year that the Firm received this accolade. This year's award follows the nomination from St. James Settlement, a charitable organization the Firm has been working with since 2013.
"Helping the communities where we operate is an integral part of our work," said Brian Henderson, chief operating officer for Baker McKenzie's Hong Kong and China offices.
"CSR initiatives have not only brought many of our colleagues closer, but also forged powerful affinities with clients and other businesses who share the same commitment to social justice. We are very pleased that our efforts have been recognized."
Over the years, Baker McKenzie's Hong Kong office has partnered with many different NGOs to provide support and volunteer services across a full range of CSR activities, among them include PLAN International, OXFAM, St. James Settlement, Youth Art Foundation, Community Business, HelpMeSee, The Women’s Foundation, WILHK, HKGALA, Hong Kong PRIDE, Pink Dot, The Community Chest, The HUB Hong Kong Children and Youth Centre, Mother’s Choice, Cherish Angle, Hong Kong Dog Rescue, WWF, Save the Children, Medecins sans Frontieres, Ronald McDonald House Charities and Phoenix Clubhouse.
The Firm has also provided pro bono support to a number of charitable bodies and non-profit organizations, including the, Save the Children Alliance, The HUB Hong Kong Children and Youth Centre, Mekong Club, OutRight Action International, United Nation Consortium for Street Children, Integrated Brilliant Education Center, Magic Bus, Hong Chi Association, Climate Change Group, and the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).
Launched in 2002, the Caring Company Scheme aims at cultivating corporate citizenship by building strategic partnerships among businesses and non-profit organisations to create a more cohesive society. Each year, awards are presented to companies and organisations that show contribution in the area of corporate social responsibility.
