Baker McKenzie is delighted to announce the appointment of Anna Brown as its new Director of Global Diversity & Inclusion. Anna will transition into the global role after 12 months as North America Director of Diversity & Inclusion, bringing with her more than 16 years of experience designing, implementing and strategizing all aspects of diversity and inclusion.
In her new role, Anna will develop and execute holistic and integrated D&I strategies to achieve the Firm’s short and long term D&I objectives. Anna will be responsible for leading and promoting the awareness of diversity and inclusion issues both across the Firm and to an external market.
"We are very pleased to have Anna move into the global role," said Peter May, Baker McKenzie's Chief Talent Officer. "She has a wealth of experience within the Firm and throughout her career pioneering successful campaigns to create a more inclusive and diverse workplace."
In Anna's previous role at Shearman & Sterling, she served as Executive Director of the firm's Diversity and Inclusion Committee, leading and developing their full range of diversity and inclusion initiatives and outreach. Anna currently serves as a member of the New York City Bar Association's Committee to Enhance Diversity in the Profession, and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. She also serves as the Program Co-Chair of the Practising Law Institute's 2018 Annual Diversity and Inclusion Symposium, a position she has served in for the past several years.
Diversity and inclusion is a strategic priority in the legal profession, and it is a priority for Baker McKenzie.
I am excited to work with colleagues across the regions to serve as a resource and assist in advancing our D&I goals, both within the Firm and the greater legal and business communities."
