Ruslan Drobyazko, Partner of Baker McKenzie’s Kyiv Office, has been elected Co-Chair of the IPR Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine.
The mission of the IPR Committee is to contribute to the development of the comprehensive legal and institutional framework related to intellectual property rights protection and enforcement issues, and to promote innovation and creativity in Ukraine.
“My goals for the IPR Committee in the next year would be to improve the regulation of IP rights in Ukraine, with a focus on IP enforcement and the fight against counterfeiting. Also, it is important to participate in the discussion with the policy makers at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and SE “Ukrpatent” regarding IP policy and relevant draft laws in Ukraine.
"We should involve a broad range of industry representatives and right holders from the ACC side and policy makers from the government side to improve the situation of IP rights protection in Ukraine,” stated Ruslan Drobyazko as his goals for the election.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine is among the most influential member-funded business associations in Ukraine.
