Baker McKenzie Adds Experienced Transactional Lawyer Thomas Hughes
Baker McKenzie has added Thomas Hughes as a Partner in its North America Corporate & Securities Practice, as it further expands its transactional capabilities.
Based in Chicago, Tom represents private equity, hedge fund and corporate clients in domestic and international M&A, joint venture, licensing and other commercial transactions. His industry experience includes clients in the pharmaceutical and industrials sectors, and he has advised on cross-border transactions involving entities located in India, Brazil, Canada, Bermuda, Australia and Western Europe.

Tom has extensive experience managing and overseeing multiple transactions simultaneously, and has independently led numerous cross-border M&A matters, interacting with senior-level client management, boards of directors and special committees, opposing counsel, contractual counterparties and regulators.

Tom received his B.S.E. and M.S.E. in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan, and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was a contributing editor of the Michigan Law Review.
