Baker McKenzie partner Nancy Hamzo was honoured by Lexpert magazine as one of the publication’s 2017 Rising Stars, recognizing Canada’s leading lawyers under 40. The annual award pays tribute to lawyers with outstanding professional achievement, community involvement, client service and business acumen.
In an article profiling Nancy, Lexpert noted her recent accomplishments:
- Advising a biopharmaceutical business on a spin-off from its medical products business
- In connection with her pro bono work in Canada with Women for Women International and Oxfam
- Starting and co-chairing the Women’s Networking Initiative at the Firm to enhance networking opportunities in Canada for lawyers within the Firm and for clients externally
Nancy is part of the Firm’s Corporate and Securities Practice Group and works out of Toronto. She advises clients on a broad range of corporate transactions, particularly on cross-border mergers, acquisitions and multi-jurisdictional reorganizations, including pre-transaction restructurings, post-acquisition integrations and spin-offs.
