Baker McKenzie has advised the InVenture and Earlybird funds in the context of the fundraising for Convargo, which specialises in connecting companies and shippers, for a total amount of €16 million.
After raising €2 million from business angels in 2016, this new operation is part of the acceleration and development of Convargo on the French market and its European expansion, planned for 2018.
Created in 2015, Convargo connects companies with certified transport firms and provides a quote in a matter of seconds for the delivery of their goods by road. The shippers can then follow the route taken in real time. Today, the company works with more than 3,000 shippers, from very small businesses to CAC 40 groups, and with more than 2,000 carriers within Europe. InVenture, created in 2012, is a mobility oriented Russian investment fund and Earlybird is a German venture capital firm created in 1997. The two companies specialise in innovative businesses, in which they invest throughout all growth phases.
The Baker McKenzie team which advised InVenture and Earlybird was headed by Matthieu Grollemund, partner, assisted by Hélène Parent, senior associate and Rodrigue Tchouale, associate.
