First-of-its-kind Asia Pacific business podcast from Baker McKenzie examines the opportunities in doing business globally
In the fifth instalment of Crossing Borders, a global business and legal issues podcast produced by Baker McKenzie in collaboration with AsiaToday International, the show examines the growth of Vietnam as a market for business. Vietnamese officials declared in early August their fast-growing economy would gain another 6.7% this year alone.
How can businesses tap into the huge opportunities on offer in relation to doing business in and with Vietnam? And what are the risks? To answer these questions, veteran business journalist, Leon Gettler spoke to Fred Burke, the Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie in Vietnam and Andy Ho, the Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of VinaCapital Group, who oversees the Capital Markets, Private Equity, Fixed Income and Venture Capital Investment teams.
The Crossing Borders podcast explores issues surrounding trade and investment in Asia Pacific, and attracts an increasingly broad and diverse audience of those in the legal, business and academic communities. Past topics have included: Supply Chain Transparency; Is India the next big thing?; Cross-border M&A Trends in the Asia Pacific Region; and Insolvency World Congress 2017.
Baker McKenzie's Asia Pacific Chair, Gary Seib stated:
Gaining insights from industry insiders into key business issues across the region is hugely valuable.
"The Crossing Border series provides this, and also tangibly demonstrates our collaborative approach to advising businesses on complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions and other legal matters."
