The team advises clients on a broad range of transactions, fund formation and fund investment activities and acting for some of the world’s most prominent private equity firms and investors. David takes over the role from Michael Fieweger, who will take up the position of Regional Practice Group Leader for Private Equity in North America. Ai Ai Wong, Executive Committee Member responsible for Baker McKenzie's transactional practices, said: "We thank Mike for his time as practice leader and welcome David at what is a very exciting time for the practice globally. David's practice is primarily focused on mergers & acquisitions and restructurings for private equity funds, infrastructure funds, pension funds and other clients. He also has significant experience in representing management teams in respect of their equity incentive structures in primary and secondary buyouts. David has spent time in the Firm's Sydney and Moscow offices.
In December 2016, David and the London practice won "Private Equity Team of the Year" at the 2016 British Legal Awards for its work for Bain Capital on the $3.1bn sale of its portfolio company, Brakes to Sysco Corporation; the largest private equity exit outside the US in 2016.
