Wendy Bernero, veteran legal consultant, strategist and marketing chief, has joined Baker McKenzie as Head of Client Development for North America.

Based in New York, Wendy will be responsible for the delivery of client relationship development, practice and service line innovation, and marketing strategies.

"Wendy is a highly accomplished expert in the legal business development and marketing community who brings nearly three decades of experience to Baker McKenzie," said Colin Murray, the Firm's Managing Partner in North America. "The Firm strives to pursue new ways of working with clients and makes strategic investments to meet their needs. We are excited about the fresh perspective Wendy will bring to these efforts throughout the Firm, particularly in North America."

Chief Marketing Officer Laurie Robertson added, "Wendy's deep experience and strategic thinking will help accelerate the momentum we have in North America and she will also bring those insights to our Global Business Development, Marketing and Communications Leadership team."

During her career, Wendy has, among other roles, been a partner with Hildebrandt International, the global legal consultancy, and served as Chief Strategy Officer as well as Chief Marketing Officer of several Am Law 100 firms. Most recently she was one of the co-founders of Bernero & Press, a professional services consulting company. She has written extensively about legal marketing, has been active in the Legal Marketing Association for many years as a board member and speaker, and was inducted into the International LMA Hall of Fame in 2012.
