Global law firm Baker McKenzie has ranked eleventh in the UK Government's Social Mobility Employers Index published today. The Index comprises the top 50 UK employers who have taken the most action to improve social mobility within the workplace.

Baker McKenzie has a longstanding commitment to social mobility and increasing access to the legal profession. In addition to being one of the Government's Social Mobility Business Compact Champions, the Firm has been named as a Contextual Recruitment Pioneer. In 2015, the Firm was one of the first to introduce contextual recruitment in to its graduate recruitment applicant tracking system, which enables a candidate's economic background and personal circumstances to be taken into account for the first time. Baker McKenzie also has a number of well established access and outreach programmes, including paid work experience for state educated students from lower socio-economic background and a schools volunteering scheme.
