Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie has advised commercial real estate specialists Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) with the acquisition of Meridian Immobilier SA. Based in Geneva, Meridian is the former DTZ subsidiary for western Switzerland. The acquisition substantially enlarges JLL’s presence in western Switzerland to now also include advisory services in project management and project controlling.
Meridian Immobilier SA is a real estate consultancy. Founded in 2008 it now employs ten people. The new branch office will be headed by Meridian’s founding partners, Pierre Stämpfli and Anna Briffod. The expansion of JLL’s operations in western Switzerland marks a continuation of JLL’s dynamic growth in recent years.
Jan Eckert, JLL Switzerland CEO, said: “We are delighted to embark on a new phase of our development together with Pierre Stämpfli and Anna Briffod. There is a great cultural and strategic fit between Meridian and JLL. Bringing our businesses together will bring new opportunities for clients to work with us, as well as underline our strong position in the real estate consultancy market across Switzerland as a whole."
We are excited about the growth potential in Switzerland and look forward to continuing to develop our business to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse client base.
Baker McKenzie advised JLL on the acquisition, with a team led by Alexander Wyss, and assisted by Timo Leis, Daniel Kälin (all Zurich) and Frédérique Kohn (Geneva).
