Baker McKenzie is pleased to announce that Colin Murray has been elected as the Firm's next North America Managing Partner.
Colin currently serves as Managing Partner of the Firm's San Francisco/Palo Alto office. He is a seasoned trial lawyer and former prosecutor who has practiced at Baker McKenzie for 17 years. "I am honored to serve as the next North America Managing Partner, and I am thankful for the trust my fellow partners have reposed in me," said Colin. "I am excited to work with all of our North American partners to build upon the foundation laid by Rick Hammett over the last three years, and to enhance even further Baker McKenzie's position as the premier global law firm in North America."
A senior member of the Firm's North America Litigation and Government Enforcement Practice, Colin has represented global and local clients in complex business disputes, has tried more than 50 cases to final jury verdict, and has served as lead counsel in many bench trials and private arbitrations. "I'm confident he will be a very strong Managing Partner who can take our firm to new heights in North America. I offer him my sincere congratulations."
In the coming months, Colin will work closely with Rick Hammett to ensure a smooth transition.
Added Paul Rawlinson, Baker McKenzie's Global Chair, "Our Firm continues to grow its capabilities in North America, one of the most competitive legal markets in the world. I am proud of our progress and I look forward to working with Colin as he begins his new role."
