Nielsen Acquires Gracenote in Data Tracking Push
We acted as lead counsel for Nielsen in its acquisition of leading media metadata provider Gracenote from Tribune Media.
Nielsen is one of the world's foremost ratings and consumer-research companies and this purchase reinforces its market strength in customer tracking, allowing the company to offer clients the ability to target customers and optimize campaigns in real time.
The cross-border deal was led by New York-based Alan Zoccolillo, with support provided by lawyers from the United States, UK, Canada, Netherlands, Japan, Indonesia, Germany, France, South Korea, Austria, Denmark and Dubai.

Gracenote currently provides data for 12 million movie and TV listings and more than 200 million music tracks. Gracenote will operate as a business unit within Nielsen's Watch segment.
