Baker & McKenzie's Chair of Latin America Claudia Prado has received special recognition at the 2016 Chambers Latin America Awards for her Outstanding Contribution to the Legal Profession. The firm also received the Venezuela Client Service Award.
Chambers & Partners recognized her "stellar reputation in both her native Brazil and across Latin America" which Mrs. Prado has developed throughout 30 years of her successful career. From time spent as a junior lawyer at Trench, Rossi & Watanabe** to her current roles as Member of Baker & McKenzie's Global Executive Committee, Chair of the Latin America Region, as well as Chair of the Global Financial Committee and Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Mrs. Prado has worked with colleagues across Baker & McKenzie on a variety of complex engagements for global clients. Her consistent work on promoting Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, especially those in favor of closing the gender gap in the legal profession, has been widely recognized during the last six years.
It is a great privilege to receive recognition for my contribution to the legal profession. I feel very humbled and I hope this will inspire a new generation of lawyers, especially young women, to always aspire to be winners in their own way,
said Mrs. Prado while accepting the award.
Eduardo Leite, Chairman of Baker & McKenzie said, " I am delighted at this recognition of a good friend and admired professional."
Rhodri Holtman, editor of Chambers Latin America, commented: "I was honoured to present Claudia with the Outstanding Contribution to the Legal Profession Award to recognise her management skills which have helped propel Baker & McKenzie onto the Latin American stage as well as the important contribution Claudia has made to the advancement of women in the legal profession."
Baker & McKenzie was also awarded the Venezuela Client Service Award during this ceremony. This is the second consecutive year that Baker & McKenzie has received this distinction for the excellence in service reported by clients across different practice areas.
