Global Investigations Review, a leading publication on the law and practice of international investigations, has recognized Baker & McKenzie as an elite firm for FCPA matters in its new guide, Washington DC's FCPA Bar.
This is the first year GIR's Just Anti-Corruption has ranked the top firms for Foreign Corrupt Practices Act matters in the US capital. Firms were placed in three categories: elite, highly recommended and recommended. Baker & McKenzie earned an "elite" ranking for handling an "impressive number of high-profile FCPA matters." The guide also noted the Firm's global network and bench of practitioners with experience in Russia, Brazil and Africa.
"This recognition speaks to the strength of our FCPA practice in Washington, and it’s emblematic of our anti-corruption capabilities throughout North America and around the world," said Mark Taylor, Chair of the Firm's North America Litigation & Government Enforcement practice. "There's no question that FCPA enforcement, risk and compliance continue to be among the top issues on the minds of in-house counsel, and we are proud to be named an elite practice in this area."
The Firm's FCPA group consists of former senior level government officials, including DOJ prosecutors and SEC enforcement officials, former in-house anti-corruption counsel, as well as regional experts that specialize in handling anti-corruption matters.
