Best Legal Team at the WealthBriefingAsia Awards 2016 in Hong Kong and Singapore
Baker & McKenzie.Wong & Leow, has been named 'Best Legal Team' at the recent WealthBriefingAsia Hong Kong Awards and WealthBriefingAsia Singapore Awards, held on 2 June and 9 June respectively.
This is the fourth year running that the Singapore team has taken home the 'Best Legal Team' award. The Singapore team also won the 'Best Tax/Accountancy Team' award for the second straight year. The judges noted that the Firm's recent initiatives in Singapore with family offices and with global investor advice were "top notch" and also highlighted the team's "strong track record for offering innovative solutions to its clients".
The Hong Kong team was noted by the judges for its "long history of expertise in the wealth management sector together with a global network that provides clients with extensive advice and solutions to legal issues". The team was also commended for its "extensive experience in cross-border cases, dispute handling and litigation".
In addition, Dawn Quek, Head of the Wealth Management practice in Singapore, has received two accolades in the individual categories at the Singapore Awards. She was named the 'Leading Individual - Advisor', an award which recognises someone whose expertise in tax and wealth planning is evident through his/her focus, work, and international experience. Dawn also clinched the 'Women in Wealth Management' award, with judges underlining her clear commitment to the wealth management industry and strong focus on developing new talent to strengthen the team's offering to clients.
Richard Weisman, a US Tax Partner at Baker & McKenzie in Hong Kong, was named the 'Leading Individual - Advisor' at the Hong Kong Awards. WealthBriefingAsia commended Richard for his extensive experience in advisory services, which ranges over international wealth management, tax planning and compliance, as well as dispute resolution involving Asia and the US. He was also recognised for his contribution in tax policy and on thought-leadership issues.
