Baker & McKenzie grows with new Partner for Banking & Finance
Filip Kurkowski, LL.M. (London School of Economics) joins Baker & McKenzie as a partner in the Banking & Finance practice on 1 July 2016. He comes from Allen & Overy, where he worked since 2001 (as Counsel since 2008) in the finance practice.
Filip Kurkowski specializes in international real estate and asset financings. In the area of real estate finance he advises banks and investors on the acquisition of commercial or residential real estate portfolios. In asset finance, he advises arrangers, debt providers, lessors or lessees on the financing of mobile assets (aircraft, rolling stock and ships).
"Filip has an excellent reputation in the market. In the last decade he accompanied numerous major financings. He will strengthen our loan financing team, but in particular, reinforce the interface to real estate. Filip Kurkowski's clients include German and international private equity funds and banks. Filip regularly advises funds such as Corestate, Och Ziff and Maple Knoll Capital. He also regularly advises Landesbank Hessen-Thueringen (Helaba), one of Germany's most prominent real estate financiers.
