Best Trade Law Firm in the Americas
We have been named "Best Trade Finance Law Firm in the Americas" by Trade Finance Magazine, a leading global publication focused on trade finance issues.
The Trade Finance Awards celebrate the best in class in trade, export and commodity finance over the past year, and recognize the companies and firms that played vital roles in those transactions. The awards were judged by a panel, and winners were selected based on quality, innovation and market influence, not just the size of the deal, company or number of mandates won.
Baker & McKenzie was also named "Best Trade Finance Law Firm in Latin America" for the past two consecutive years by the same publication.
"We are honored to be selected as Best Trade Law Firm in the Americas," said Alvaro Posada, Chair of Baker & McKenzie's Latin America Banking & Finance Practice "Our trade finance team is a market leader, providing exceptional service to clients both in the Americas and around the world, and we are pleased to be recognized."
Trade Finance is a global publication concentrating exclusively on the international trade finance market. It is the market-leading resource for news and analytics on structured trade finance, (including export & agency, and commodity finance) and supply chain finance.
"This important recognition speaks to our work as strategic advisors to our clients as they face increasingly challenging market conditions on behalf of financial institutions and corporate borrowers," said José A. Morán, Chair of Baker & McKenzie's North America Banking & Finance Practice. "It is our dual skills—deep understanding of the nuances of the region, combined with unsurpassed transactional and dispute-resolution experience—that sets us apart."
Over the last year, Baker & McKenzie has added a series of accomplished lawyers with extensive experience in US and Latin American finance transactions, including corporate finance attorney Jai Khanna, project finance attorney Mark Tibberts, and banking and finance attorney Kim Prior. In addition, Luis Ambrosio and Felipe Lamb joined Trench, Rossi e Watanabe Advogados, a Brazilian law firm with a cooperation agreement with Baker & McKenzie.
