John McGuinness appointed as Associate Director, Communications, Asia Pacific
In this role, John will be responsible for the Firm’s internal and external communications strategy and execution at a regional level, supporting senior Asia Pacific management and industry and practice leads around internal engagement, while continuing to build the Baker & McKenzie's profile in traditional and social media across the Firm's 17 offices in 12 jurisdictions in the Asia Pacific region.
John will report to Will White, Global Director of Communications. Will said, "I am delighted to welcome John to our global and regional communications teams. His wide experience in public relations and internal engagement for financial and professional services organizations means this is a significant appointment for Baker & McKenzie and we are lucky to have him on board."
John joins Baker & McKenzie from Barclays Bank where he last held the position of Vice President of Corporate Communications for Southeast Asia and Australia, after having joined the bank in 2008, as Media Relations Manager for Corporate Banking. He has spent more than 13 years in journalism and communications in Asia, the UK and his native New Zealand, where he completed his Bachelor of Communications at Auckland University of Technology.

John started with the Firm on 14 March, and is based in Singapore.
