Welcome to the August edition of our UK Pensions Update. You will not be surprised to hear that the (what feel like) daily announcements of new developments in the pensions industry have quietened down during the holiday season.
Nevertheless, there is still plenty to report on this month with a High Court judgment in a case about whether a pension scheme administrator should be held liable for misleading 'at retirement' communications and the DWP response to its consultation on the jurisdiction of the Pensions Ombudsman. No doubt more legal developments are on the horizon for the coming months and so our advice is to enjoy the current calm before the likely storm!
