On 30 September 2018, the governments of Canada, Mexico and the United States reached an agreement regarding the amendments for the modernization of the North American Free Trade Agreement ("NAFTA").

Two days before, on 28 September 2018, the Minister of Economy himself filed another document with the Senate, explaining that the negotiation with Canada was still ongoing, and that the texts of the agreement were going to be released once an agreement with Canada was reached (if that happened).

On 30 September the full text of the agreement reached by the three parties was filed before the Mexican Senate.

The text of this new agreement, known as the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), is available on the website of the Mexican Ministry of Economy. It is important to bear in mind that these texts are published for informative purposes only, that they may be further amended and are subject to legal review.
