On 18 July 2018, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 571 and Order No. 513-p, which amended the process of maintaining foreign representative office employees' labor books (Amendments).
The Amendments are as follows:
- As of 24 July 2018, the heads of foreign representative offices must keep records of, store and issue the labor books.
- As of 27 July 2018, the labor books of foreign representative office employees can no longer be stored with the Directorate-General for Rendering Services to Diplomatic Missions (Directorate-General) and/or other relevant entities (bodies).
Previously, the Directorate-General and/or other entities (bodies) (depending on the location of the representative office) had the authority to store and maintain the labor books of foreign representative offices' employees.
In connection with the Amendments, now, foreign representative offices not only have to obtain the labor books of their employees from the Directorate-General (or other relevant entities), but also have to ensure the storage and maintenance of labor books according to applicable laws.
