On 27 September 2017, the Argentine Ministry of Transport by Resolution 914-E/2017 launched an international tender to acquire 1500 new electric multiple units (EMUs) for the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA). This is part of the Comprehensive Plan of Works which will involve an investment of USD 14 billion dollars until 2023.

The total investment will be of approximately USD 2.7 billion and includes rolling stock, spare parts, maintenance of EMUs in local facilities for ten years, rendering of technical training and assistance. EMUs must be delivered in different stages from the second semester of 2020 until 2023 and up to 20% of the components must be manufactured in the country.

The deadline to submit offers is 14 November 2017 at 15.00 hrs. and the opening will be on the same day at 16.00 hrs.
