Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs authority (HMRC) has announced the deadline for submitting share plan annual returns for the tax year 2016/2017 has been extended from 6 July 2017 to 24 August 2017. The HMRC experienced technical problems with its website earlier in the reporting cycle which prevented companies from filing their annual returns. These issues have been resolved and companies are now able to submit their annual returns.

This does not affect share plan registrations for tax advantaged plans which must still be completed by July 6, 2017 in relation to the 2016/2017 tax year.
