Baker McKenzie is pleased to bring colleagues in from the Firm's European Tax practice to discuss key tax developments in Europe. This series of briefings will be held in Houston (October 1), Dallas (October 2), Miami (October 3) and New York (October 7). This is a unique opportunity to interact with a group of practitioners from key jurisdictions in Europe who will speak on topics of interest to US companies that operate in Europe.
See below for additional details on the agenda topics and for an opportunity to meet with our European Tax practitioners for a confidential, one-on-one meeting before or after the event.
European Tax Trends, Risks and Outlook
The European tax and transfer pricing environment is evolving at an unmatched pace. The European Commission and Member States are pursuing an ambitious agenda for more transparency and "fairer" taxation in the EU by combatting (perceived) tax evasion and tax avoidance.
The general framework of developments in the EU –e.g. ATAD– will be known by most if not all US clients that operate in Europe. However, the focus of many US clients has been dealing with the US Tax Reform. The purpose of this session is to deliver a broad and practical message on the developments in Europe, and to quickly move to clear and actionable matters.
- Introduction and recap on EU developments
- Recent tax audit trends and cases
- Legislative trends and action items
There is no fee to attend, but registration is required and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The briefings are not open to attendance by other professional service providers.
