The New Tax Era
Transparency, exchange of information, increasing tax disputes and taxation of the digital economy. These are some key words to describe the new tax era we are experiencing. Both the EU and the OECD have implemented various tax initiatives that are changing the global tax landscape and a number of business models. Undoubtedly tax is currently one of the main drivers of change. Corporates are more than ever challenged in being abreast on all the latest developments, and tax developments are adding to the complexity and the turbulence.
At the EMEA Tax Conference 2018, we will explore several facets of this new tax era. We will take a close look at the new trends and updates on international taxation at a plenary session, and we will then host a series of workshops to cover the new trends in the transfer pricing and tax dispute resolution area, and the challenges and opportunities of the new digital economy taxation among others.
We are delighted to announce that we will have an illustrious institutional representation: Maria José Garde, International Taxation, Ministry of Finance and Public Administration in Spain; Jorge Ferreras, Spanish Permanent Representation to the EU; Manuel de los Santos, OECD, and Jaime Mas, International Taxation, Spanish Ministry of Finance, will join the sessions which will be led by our Baker McKenzie tax practitioners.
Following on from the conference, after enjoying tapas, we will host a final session on country updates on LATAM, Portugal and the United States. Please indicate if you are able to join through the registration link
Diversity is one of our Firm's key values. To learn more about this topic, we will organise a Diversity Cocktail on Thursday 21 June at 7pm. If you would like to receive more information on this event or you would like to attend, please contact us.
