Description

The R2R Senior Benefit Plans Accountant will provide accounting and analysis support to the Global Benefits Team, North America Payroll, and facilitate annual audits of the global benefit and retirement plans.
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for Monthly/quarterly reconciliation and analysis of various benefit plans activities between the general ledger and the benefit system
  • Preparation of financial statements/support schedules for Annual Medical and Dental and Retirement plans and audit support 
  • Communications to Benefits management on the financial results of benefit activities
  • Prepare support for the annual Form 5500 preparation and filing
  • Journal entries and allocations of the benefit costs
  • Audit of monthly Lawson "Audit Trail Report"
  • Reconciliation and analysis of financial records for various global entities
  • Prepare and provide support for the US LLP annual tax filing and K-1 preparation
 
Skills and Experience:
 
  • BA or BS in Accounting, Finance or other Business discipline
  • Prior experience with benefit plan audits is highly desirable
  • Hands-on experience with accounting for self-insured medical plans, VEBA, retirement plans and related reporting
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
  • Solid understanding of GAAP, IFRS and general accounting principles
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills 
  • Working knowledge of SAP's FI module
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong focus on Customer Service
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver results within specified deadlines
