The Manager - Statutory Accounting and Analysis will support the statutory accounting, reporting and interfirm invoicing requirements of Baker & McKenzie offices, service centers and special purpose entities in over forty five countries; develop and implement tools and processes to ensure the accurate statutory accounting for business events in Member Firms; Oversee the statutory P&L modeling process; liaise with other Finance teams on monthly processing and accounting issues.



  • Manage the Statutory P&L modeling process
  • Provide reporting, analysis and accounting reconciliations as needed to offices to support statutory or tax audit requests and assist in offices' understanding
  • Monitor interfirm activity and liaise with office Finance teams and expert Finance teams as it relates to proper accounting for transactions for statutory and internal management accounting purposes
  • Liaise with Finance teams on accounting issues and provide training as necessary
  • Determine accounting for transactions that require different treatment for statutory purposes and oversee training and implementation
  • SAP Reporting development, testing and training as needed
  • Develop creative ways to meet the statutory accounting and reporting objectives in a changing environment
  • Recruitment, supervision and development of team members


Skills and Experience:

  • BA/BS or equivalent degree in Accounting; CPA or equivalent preferred
  • Extensive accounting experience in a corporate or professional services environment; experience in a multi-national environment preferred
  • Some management experience 
  • Excellent understanding of general accounting principles
  • Knowledge of financial systems (SAP preferred), and business applications and languages (Excel, Access)
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and project management skills
  • Flexibility with regards to changing priorities
  • Time management and organizational skills
