Description
The Manager, Inclusion, Diversity & Equity - North America will work closely with the global ID&E team implementing the Firm's ID&E strategic planning and goals. The role-holder will provide leadership and management support and be responsible for planning, managing, developing, and implementing ID&E programs, initiatives, and metrics; and advancing the Firm's ID&E mission and goals.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute thought leadership to the development and implementation of innovative methods and ideas to advance and implement ID&E initiatives throughout the Firm's North America region
- Provide support to the NA Affiliate Networks, Inclusion Groups, and local office ID&E Committees, including managing annual budgets and creating periodic reporting
- Manage internal sponsorship/mentorship programs in the region and continue to support the retention and promotion of our attorneys and business professionals
- Oversee diversity surveys and client data requests, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of information; design and develop business reports as needed
- Conduct internal and external research, including research related to racial/cultural, gender, disability and LGBTQ+ issues
- Collaborate with the firm's business professional departments, including recruiting, business development, marketing, communications, talent management, human resources, leadership and learning, and finance teams
- Supervise other team members as required
- Build relationships with lawyers and business professionals at the firm, internal ID&E leaders, ID&E professionals at peer firms, leaders of diversity organizations, and bar associations
- Monitor external ID&E best practices, attend ID&E conferences, and facilitate relationships between individuals at the firm and leading ID&E organizations
- Perform such other duties as assigned or requested
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required; Juris Doctorate or Master's degree a plus
- Strong ID&E experience, preferably in a professional services company or law firm
- Self-motivated; able to work independently
- Demonstrated expertise in project management and strategic planning
- Strong organization skills, including setting priorities, structuring project deliverables
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, excellent presentation skills
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
- Fluent in Spanish is a plus
- Able to perform data analysis
- Experience in marketing and event planning a plus
- A high level of discretion, diplomacy, and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
- Advanced computer skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and general databases
This position is bonus eligible and includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) based on number of hours worked. The US base compensation for this position is expected to be $135,000 to $150,000 annually if located in an office in the state of California, Illinois, or New York. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
