Responsibilities

  • Ensure strict adherence to the Firm’s Billing Policy
  • Act as liaison with Billing Partners, coordinate all Billing Partner activities
  • Effectively interact and communicate with attorneys, secretaries, and clients
  • Execute complex bills in a timely manner (i.e., multiple discounts by matter, split-party billing, preparation and submission of electronic bills)
  • Implementation of special billing arrangement review and implementation
  • Overall execution of client services: reporting, analysis, accruals, special billing, collection issues resolution, and other Clients needs as they arise
  • Research and respond to inquiries regarding billing issues and problems
  • Review and verify accuracy of billing and supporting documentation as required
  • Reads, uses and is familiar with computer systems manuals and procedures, maintains and updates procedural manuals as needed
  • Administrative tasks (mailing, pdfs, copying)
  • Accruals, budgets
  • Maintain Client Confidentiality
  • Assists with special projects as needed

Experience Required

Qualifications and Skills

  • Preferred Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related area
  • At least three years relevant accounting experience, preferably within a professional services environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and billing functions
  • Ability to readily comprehend business objectives and correspondingly develop and execute appropriate strategies
  • Highly disciplined approach to developing and executing departmental objectives and personal responsibilities
  • Well developed and sophisticated organization, communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage relations at various levels within and outside an organization
  • Proactive, innovative and results-oriented work orientation
  • Commitment to perform responsibilities with high professional and ethical standards
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of financial reporting software and other proprietary e-billing and Firm systems
  • Ability to use web-based applications, database and other software necessary to complete projects and reports
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with a varied and diverse group of attorneys, staff and clients
  • Complete projects with a high-level of attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task with competing deadlines and priorities
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and discretion on all work performed
  • Organized, detailed oriented individual with good project management skills with multi-tasking
