New Intellectual Property Court Aims to Improve Judicial System of the Russian Federation

Amendments have been introduced to form a specialized court dealing with intellectual property disputes, sometimes referred to as a "patent court". On 6 and 8 December 2011, the President of the Russian Federation signed two Laws in connection with the creation of the Intellectual Property Court. The Laws introduced amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation, including "On the Judicial System of the Russian Federation", "On Arbitrazh Courts of the Russian Federation", and "On the Status of Judges in the Russian Federation", as well as to the Arbitrazh Procedure Code of the Russian Federation.
