Lloyd Winans is a partner in the New York office of Baker & McKenzie. He advises on complex financing and business transactions in Latin America and the Caribbean. Mr. Winans is the founder and co-chair of the American Bar Association Business Law Section's Latin American Law Subcommittee. He currently serves as vice chair of the International Law Section’s Latin American and Caribbean Committee, and as co-chair of the section’s International Financial Services and Products Committee.

Mr. Winans’ practice focuses on the regulation of foreign and domestic banking entities operating in the US including regulatory structures, powers, product offerings and equity investments; regulatory relations and compliance, including Bank Holding Company Act, International Banking Act, Dodd-Frank compliance, examination management, and enforcement matters. He also focuses on transactional alternative finance including trade finance, equipment finance, factoring, merchant cash advances, virtual currency and microfinance. He also has extensive experience handling inbound and outbound business transactions, financing and investment in Latin America and the Caribbean.
