Baker & McKenzie Receives Two Trade Finance Awards for Excellence in the Americas

New York, USA, June 29, 2012 – Trade Finance Magazine recently named Baker & McKenzie the Best Trade Finance Law Firm in Latin America and a runner-up as Best Trade Finance Law Firm in North America for 2012, based on an annual poll conducted through the Magazine's website.
The Trade Finance Magazine's Awards for Excellence, now in its 15th year, is the longest running, most highly regarded, and most comprehensive poll of the global trade finance market. The poll was expanded to cover the key economies of the Asia-Pacific region in 2006, and the Americas in 2010.
Banks, law firms, insurers and other entities active in trade finance were encouraged to mobilize their clients, partners and contacts to vote in the poll. Awards for Excellence are a combination of industry votes and editorial selection. The Awards for Excellence and Deals of the Year Awards were given out at the 3rd Annual Trade Finance Awards Dinner on June 26th in New York.
In 2011, Baker & McKenzie won two Trade Finance Magazine Deal of the Year Awards in Asia for the Duyen Hai 1 Thermal Power Project in Asia and the Saudi Electricity Company on COFACE backed financing of SEC's Shoaiba III Thermal Power Plant. Other Firm recognitions include being named as one of the Top 10 Biggest Winners of the 2010-2011 bank panels by The Lawyer and being named the World’s No. 1 Law Firm Brand by the Acritas Sharplegal® Global Elite Brand Index 2009-2011.
