Client/Legal Alert
On 25 April 2013, the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act (the Act) received Royal Assent, implementing the reforms proposed by the UK Government in March 2012. The Act makes a number of structural changes to the UK competition regime from an enforcement perspective, but the substantive changes to the law are relatively modest, with the exception of a new test for the criminal cartel offence. It is expected that the majority of the new measures will come into force in April 2014.
