Strong rankings for Baker & McKenzie in Chambers USA

Chicago, June 17, 2009 – The excellence and breadth of Baker & McKenzie’s practices and client offerings have been recognized again in the recently released 2009 Chambers USA – Guide to the World’s Leading Lawyers.
The Firm received 24 practice rankings, up two from last year, in areas ranging from Antitrust, Banking and Finance, Corporate M&A, Litigation and Employment to Tax. The region’s Climate Change and IT & IT Outsourcing (Illinois) practices receiving Tier 1 rankings.
Baker & McKenzie also saw seven new US lawyers added to the rankings this year, for a total of 50 individual attorneys. Partners Edward Burmeister (San Francisco), George Kimball (San Diego), Ruth Hill Bro (Chicago), Robert F. Hudson Jr. (Miami), Mark A. Oates (Chicago) and Michael Mensik (Chicago) all received Tier 1 rankings. In addition, the Firm’s Tax and Privacy practices were nominated in the Chambers 2009 USA Excellence Awards. The awards honor outstanding lawyers and law firms across the USA, reflecting both pre-eminence in key practice areas and achievements over the last year.
Baker & McKenzie’s Chambers rankings have been steadily increasing since 2003, where the Firm was ranked in six categories. Individual lawyer rankings have also increased from 13 in 2003 to 50 in the latest edition.
