Baker & McKenzie Advises Mahle on the Acquisition of Shares in Behr Industry

Munich, 18 February 2010 – Baker & McKenzie advised Mahle GmbH on the acquisition of a partnership interest of 60 percent in Behr Industry GmbH & Co. KG. In this joint venture, the company Mahle Behr shall be consolidated with its previous industry activities for heavy-duty engines and industrial filtration.
The Mahle Group is one of the 30 largest automotive suppliers worldwide and the leading manufacturer of components and systems for combustion engines and their periphery. Mahle has more than 45,000 employees worldwide and generated sales in excess of €5 billion in 2008. Behr Industry GmbH, an independent subsidiary of the Behr Group with approximately 900 employees, specializes in air conditioning systems. Both companies have their headquarters in Stuttgart.
The antitrust authorities have yet to approve of the transaction. The purchase price was not disclosed.
