On 9 December 2014, the Government of Singapore and the Government of the United States signed an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) to facilitate the implementation of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) in Singapore. The IGA is based on the United States Department of the Treasury's Model 1 IGA and was signed following the announcement in May 2014 that Singapore and the US have reached an agreement in substance regarding a Model 1 IGA. A copy of the IGA can be found on the website of the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS).

On 27 December 2014, the Turkish Ministry of Customs and Trade issued its Communiqué on Administrative Fines Applicable in 2015 under Consumer Protection Law No. 6502, raising fines for consumer law violations by more than 10 percent, effective 1 January 2015.

There are merger control laws in approximately 120 jurisdictions around the world. Almost all provide for fines for failure to notify qualifying transactions. Most laws are suspensory which means the deal cannot close until regulatory clearance is obtained.

To maintain trading order in the franchise market and ensure fair competition among franchised brands, Taiwan’s Fair Trade Commission established the Fair Trade Commission’s Guidelines for Handling Cases of Operational Activities of Franchisors (the Guidelines) in 1999. The Guidelines set forth disclosure requirements, rules for review and delivery of franchise agreements, and procedures to avoid unfair competition. The Guidelines were renamed and amended on 05 January 2015 to cover key issues.

In Turkey, consumer complaints against sellers and manufacturers may only be brought in Turkish consumer courts if the amount in dispute is above a certain threshold. These thresholds are set shortly before the beginning of each calendar year. On 27 December 2014, Turkey set the thresholds for 2015 in its Communiqué on Monetary Limits Set Forth under the Consumer Protection Law and the Consumer Arbitral Tribunals Regulation (Communiqué No: TGM-2014/2), raising the thresholds by 10%.

On 14 October 2014, the Ukrainian Parliament adopted the Law "On prevention and counteraction to legalization (money laundering) of the proceeds from crime or terrorism financing, as well as financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction" (the AML Law), which fully replaces the current anti-money laundering law (the Current AML Law). The AML Law comes into effect on 7 February 2015.
