Baker & McKenzie Tops International Law Firm for Women at the Euromoney Asia Women in Business Law Awards 2012

Asia Pacific, 23 November 2012 − For the second consecutive year, Baker & McKenzie was awarded “Best International Firm for Women in Business Law” at the Euromoney Asia Women in Business Law Awards held in Hong Kong. The Firm also won "Best Firm for Minority Women Lawyers" and "Best International Firm in Hong Kong". Jennifer Van Dale, Baker & McKenzie Partner in Hong Kong, was recognized as a leading practitioner in the area of Labour and Employment.

Baker & McKenzie topped the Euromoney Asia Women in Business Law Awards shortlist this year. The Firm was also nominated for “Most Innovative Law Firm”, “Best Firm for Pro Bono Work”, "Best International Firm China Practice” and for the country awards in Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Eight lawyers from across the Firm's 14 Asia Pacific offices were also nominated as leading practitioners in their fields: Kherk Ying Chew (IP Litigation), Anne Hung (Energy and Natural Resources), Angela Lee (Real Estate), Seraphim Mar (Labour and Employment), Maria Smith (Patent and Trademark Prosecution), Poh Lee Tan (M&A / Private Equity), Adeline Wong (Tax), and Ai Ai Wong (M&A / Private Equity).
The Euromoney Women in Business Law Awards recognise lawyers who have become influential and leading professionals in their chosen field, and firms that have shown outstanding achievement in supporting the development of women in the legal profession across the different continents. Earlier this year, Baker & McKenzie won the "Best Firm for Minority Women Lawyers" at the Euromoney Australasia Women in Business Law Awards. The Firm also collected “Best International Firm for Work-Life Balance” and the Poland Country Award at the Euromoney Europe Women in Business Law Awards, while Amsterdam partner Mirjam de Blécourt was awarded “Best in Labour & Employment.”
