Baker & McKenzie advises Orient-Express on sale of Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa

Sydney, Australia, 10 February 2010 – Baker & McKenzie has advised Orient-Express Hotels Ltd. on the sale of the five-star Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa to an undisclosed buyer for A$21 million. The transaction was announced on 7 December 2009 and closed on 29 January 2010.
Orient-Express Hotels Ltd. are owners or part-owners and managers of a portfolio of 49 luxury hotels, restaurants, tourist trains and river cruise properties spanning 25 countries. The Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa is a luxury 85-bedroom hotel in Katoomba, New South Wales.
Partner Roy Melick, from Baker & McKenzie's Australian Hotel Resorts & Tourism practice group led the team together with Banking partner Howard Fraser and Senior Associate Sebastian Busa.
