Hong Kong, China, May 10, 2011 – Baker & McKenzie has been voted ‘Employer of Choice’ in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand according to a recent survey conducted by Asian Legal Business.
Baker & McKenzie was the only law firm which received seven nominations across the region, ahead of the other local and international law firms in Asia Pacific. The Firm’s offices in Hong Kong and Thailand ranked first in the overall rankings in their respective markets. The Firm was also voted as one of the top three employers among the law firms in China, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan.
Jeremy Pitts, Asia Pacific Regional Chairman said, “We are very pleased with this result. The Firm’s overall performance reflects our continued commitment to recruit and retain the most talented lawyers. Having the best lawyers is a key driver of quality and client service and our ability to attract top talent is a key priority for the Firm. While we will continue to offer our lawyers excellent career prospects, we believe what really sets Baker & McKenzie apart as an employer is our ability to offer lawyers a truly global platform where they can work with leading corporations on the most significant cross-border transactions and collaborate with the other Baker & McKenzie lawyers across the world to share knowledge and best practices.”
Asian Legal Business surveyed over 20,000 lawyers across the Asia Pacific region. Firms were nominated and rated by the respondents in key areas including remuneration, quality of work, professional development and training, work-life balance, knowledge management, and IT systems. Scores were then collated to determine the overall rankings and the top employers in each jurisdiction.
