Baker & McKenzie Shortlisted for Nine Awards at the Inaugural Euromoney Asia Women In Business Law Awards 2011

Asia Pacific, 9 November 2011 – Baker & McKenzie has been recognized for outstanding achievement in supporting the development of women in the legal profession in the Asia Pacific region. Six partners from across the Firm's 14 Asia Pacific offices have also been recognized as among the most influential and leading professionals in their field. The release of the shortlist for the inaugural Euromoney Asia Women in Business Law Awards 2011 illustrates Baker & McKenzie's leading position in supporting gender inclusion and fostering a culture which has contributed to many women at the Firm rising to the top of the legal profession.
Baker & McKenzie is a finalist in the categories "Best International Firm China Practice Award", "Most Innovative International Firm Award" and "Best International Firm for Women in Business Law Award" at the Euromoney Awards.
In addition, six partners from across Firm's 14 offices in the Asia Pacific region are included in the Euromoney Awards' practice area shortists:
• Joan Fitzhenry, of Counsel in Baker & McKenzie's Sydney office, for Dispute Resolution;
• Anne Hung, Partner in Baker & McKenzie's Tokyo office, for Energy and Natural Resources;
• Angela Lee, Partner in Baker & McKenzie's Hong Kong office, for Real Estate;
• Poh Lee Tan, Managing Partner, Baker & McKenzie's Hong Kong, China and Vietnam offices, for M&A/ PE;
• Jennifer Van Dale, Partner in Baker & McKenzie's Hong Kong office, for Labour and Employment; and
• Adeline Wong, Partner in Baker & McKenzie's member Firm, Wong & Partners, in Kuala Lumpur, for Tax.

The Euromoney Women in Business Law Awards recognize lawyers who have successfully become influential and leading professionals in their chosen field, and firms that have shown outstanding achievement in supporting the development of women in the legal profession and providing work/life programmes to enable women to pursue legal careers. Baker & McKenzie Amsterdam Partner, Mirjam de Blécourt, won the Employment Award at Euromoney's European Women in Business Law Awards 2011 in June.
