London, 23 June 2010 - Baker & McKenzie is pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Farlow as a partner in the London Capital Markets Group.
Adam joins the Firm from Allen & Overy, where he was Counsel in the US Corporate Finance Group. His arrival coincides with the appointment of partner Edward Bibko as Head of the six-partner London Capital markets Group. Edward takes over from Tom Phillipp, who remains at the Firm.
Edward Bibko said,' Adam's appointment will be a real boost to our successful international Capital Markets practice. The market for Capital Markets work is coming back and Adam's arrival gives us added depth in servicing our clients.'
Adam specialises in US securities laws and transaction management in connection with SEC-registered offerings and private placements of international debt (both investment grade and high yield), equity (including IPOs and rights issues) and other forms of financing involving companies, investors, major financial institutions and trustees, as well as all forms of liability management for issuers and dealer managers.
In 2008 he was part of a team acting for the underwriters as joint global co-ordinators and book runners on the €6.36billion rights issue by Anheuser-Busch InBev, one of the largest rights issue ever by a non-financial institution.
Baker & McKenzie's London-based Capital Markets Group comprises a fully-integrated team of UK and US lawyers, offering investment banks and corporates a full range of securities law services relating to all types of capital markets transactions. The energy sector is a particular area of strength with the Firm recently advising on a number of standout deals, including the Initial Public Offering of Exillon Energy- the first international Russian IPO post the financial crisis. The Capital Markets Group is part of the Firm's 30-partner London Corporate Department, which is headed by Tim Gee.
Adam is due to join the Firm on 23 August.
