Sydney, Australia, 23 June 2010 – Lawyers from Baker & McKenzie's Hotels, Resorts & Tourism Group have collaborated with The Registry Collection to prepare the
Australia and New Zealand Fractional Industry Report 2010. The Report was launched in Sydney, on Tuesday. Other contributors to the Report are Ragatz Associates and Bergent Research.
The Report considers the prospects for the fractional industry in Australia and New Zealand, anticipated demand, and an overview of the legal and regulatory framework applying to fractional real estate in Australia and New Zealand. Information on the steps that developers need to take to ensure their fractional offering is legally compliant in Australia and New Zealand is also included.
Speaking about the Report, Robert Williams, Partner in Baker & McKenzie's Hotel, Resorts & Tourism practice group commented, "Whilst genuine fractional real estate in the United States is a mature product that is well understood by developers and consumers, it is yet to gain traction in Australia and New Zealand. This Report lays the foundations for progress in this region – the research findings demonstrate that there is consumer demand for fractional products, and opportunity for those developers who can bring properly structured, high-quality fractional offerings to market."
