Bangkok, Thailand, 17 June 2011 – Baker & McKenzie recently advised KASIKORNBANK and Bangkok Bank on a THB7.9 billion syndicated loan for Amata B. Grimm Power Limited on the development and financing of two gas-fired power plants, Rayong 1 and Rayong 2, in Rayong Province, Thailand.
The two power plants are scheduled to be in operation by 2013 and will provide electricity to the Electricity Generating Authority’s power grids and manufacturing plants in Amata City Industrial Estate in Rayong.
Commenting on this transaction, Bangkok-based Banking & Finance Partner Vit Vatanayothin who led the Baker & McKenzie team said, “We are very pleased to be retained and advise KASIKORNBANK and Bangkok Bank in these two side-by-side power plants on the small power producer (SPP) program again, after our involvement in the project financing of the SPP plant developed by Amata B. Grimm Power 3 earlier last year. With Amata B. Grimm’s strong commitment to energy business, we remain upbeat on more SPP projects to be developed by Amata B.
