Yusuf Al-Qallaf has been a member of the Firm’s Tax Practice Group in Houston since 2009. Prior to joining Baker & McKenzie, he worked as a tax lawyer for Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP in Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, as well as the American Bar Association.
Practice Focus
Mr. Al-Qallaf provides advice on general tax planning, international tax planning, as well as tax-related matters with regard to mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring. He represents a wide variety of multinational clients, ranging from oil and gas companies to insurance companies. He has broad experience in all areas of federal income tax law, with an emphasis on international tax planning and corporate taxation. Mr. Al-Qallaf has also been involved in re-domestication transactions as well as the design and implementation of tax-efficient structures for domestic and foreign clients in cross-border mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures.
