Folkert Idsinga is chair of both the European and Amsterdam Indirect Tax Sub-Practice Group of Baker & McKenzie. Prior to joining the Firm in 2002, Mr. Idsinga worked as a tax lawyer for one of the country’s top accounting firms. In addition to his practice, he has published several articles in newspapers and magazines, and is editor of the Firm’s Global VAT/GST Newsletter. Mr. Idsinga is also a frequent speaker and panelist at international seminars, courses and conferences. He is an active member of the Nederlandse Orde van Belastingadviseurs (Dutch Association of Tax Advisors).
Practice Focus
Mr. Idsinga focuses on advising multinational European, US-based and Japanese clients, particularly the European and Dutch VAT aspects of cross-border transactions, telecommunications, media, e-commerce, express and mail, financial services and products, and M&A.
