Antidumping in Venezuela

Today’s markets have opened a road to business opportunities for international trade. Yet crossing the road is no simple task. The same global forces that are opening world markets and establishing business opportunities are presenting new obstacles to trade, as the environment become increasingly competitive and unfair practices are just around the corner. From conception to consumption, your business strategy has to anticipate every twist and turn in the road or it would be easy to lose your way.

At Baker & McKenzie we help guide you every step of the way to protect your business from unfair competition.

Our Antidumping Practice Group issues opinions on dumping and subsidies of imported products which may damage Venezuelan producers. We advise clients on obtaining authorizations, permits, licenses, and all matters that involve trade regulations. We handle anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations for petitioners and respondents, as well as safeguard actions and other trade sanctions imposed on imports. We also develop dispute avoidance and duty reduction strategies, and advise on the negotiation of new trade remedies rules in the context of trade liberalization. We handle all types of administrative and judicial procedures, including appeals, with the Antidumping and Subsidies Commission and the Supreme Court.

We provide an overview of the Customs Union’s new toy safety regulations, which set out requirements for raw materials, hygienic safety, packaging and labeling of children’s toys imported into, marketed and distributed in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. The regulations took effect on 1 July 2012.
This alert summarizes the provisions under the free trade agreement of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which took effect on 20 September 2012 in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.
To succeed in today’s global marketplace, companies must keep up with endless legal changes and industry developments. Our handbooks, newsletters and client alerts are here to help.
